Samantha Callender is a digital and print journalist whose work can be seen in countless entertainment and lifestyle platforms across the country.
Samantha has always had a passion for storytelling, as she was on the staff of every student newspaper during her childhood, and also was an editor of her Yearbook.
From there, Samantha went on to pursue journalism at Miami University where she served as a beat reporter for her campus newspaper and magazine, and also served as the editor in chief of the The Crucible, a magazine on campus that spoke on the issues and experiences of the student body’s multicultural population.
Samantha also delved into the realm of digital reporting, getting her first taste of digital platforms as the editorial intern to Rhonesha Byng who had founded the then-startup HerAgenda.com.
Soon, Samantha found herself freelancing for blogs and digital platforms across the country, including becoming a contributing writer to VIBE, where she wrote music briefs, reviews, and interviewed celebrities.
Having entertainment work that also graced the pages of JET Magazine, The Source, and others, Samantha has interviewed countless celebrities, including Kevin Hart, Sanaa Lathan, Tiffany Haddish, Morris Chestnut, Jasmine Guy, and many others.
Samantha has also written for the likes of of The Root, Cosmopolitan Magazine, Seventeen Magazine, Women’s Day, xoNecole.com, and has been a contributor to countless lifestyle and culture blogs.
Currently, Samantha serves as a digital contributor to Essence.com as a beauty and hair writer, and also writes entertainment pieces for Saint Heron.
